Zeta Helps the local NAACP Membership Grow!
On Saturday, October 27, 2007 several Zeta Sorors and men of Phi Beta Sigma manned the phones at the Memphis Branch of the NAACP Radiothon for one hour. We hope that our efforts help to contribute to the growth of our local chapter of the NAACP.
The Auxiliary Groups lend a helping hand to the Memphis Family Shelter
The Youth Auxiliary Groups: Pearlettes, Amicettes and Archonettes, all volunteered at the Memphis Family Shelter Fall Festival on October 24th.
The Fall Festival included a Haunted Room in which the Archonettes masked the people, lead the unexpected victims through the room with scary silly string, while haunted music played in the background.
The Pearlettes and Amicettes helped with fun events such as musical chairs and face painting. The young ladies had an awesome time volunteering. They have worked at the Family Shelter Fall Festival for several years.
Kudos to our youth groups and their advisors for a job well done and all of their hard work. In the next issue, we will spotlight our youth groups.

Soror Carlotta Moore Stewart Watson
1901-2007
CARLOTTA MOORE STEWART WATSON, 106, retired teacher and counselor for Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis City Schools, founding charter member of Alpha Eta Zeta Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., one of the oldest residents of the Orange Mound Community and radio talk show host (WDIA - "Aunt Carrie"), died on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her residence.
Soror Watson was instrumental in chartering all of the chapters in Memphis, TN and throughout the Mid-South (Alpha Eta Zeta, Pi Alpha, Rho Gamma, Delta Iota, Tau Gamma and several others).
Soror Watson will truly be missed. On Sunday November 4, 2007, the ladies of Rho Gamma (University of Memphis) held a candlelight vigil in Soror Watson’s honor at 7:00 p.m. on campus.
